Maybe it’s your new year’s resolution to finally travel with style and luxury. Or maybe you are sick being cramped like a sardines in economy class on long haul flight. Whatever it is your reason, flying on business class is something that any travelers might aspire to do. Imagine the flat seat, the spacious area, the impeccable service, delicious food and a big screen TV accompanying your journey. While most major airlines provide a comparable business class, some airlines just do it better than others. If your heart is set on spending more money for a better travel experience, then the next thing to do is to find the airlines that provide the kind of service that you crave for. Delicious food? Extensive wine list? amazing service? Or combination between impeccable service and a state of art aircraft.

After reading several reviews, I decided to give a Qatar Airways business class a try. Since I flew from JFK to Doha and from Doha to Kuala Lumpur, I was on the mission to check out its amazing business class lounge at Doha airport. When you fly from Doha or have a stopover in Doha, their immaculate service start as your car pull a stop at the sidewalk of the airport. The special assigned porters for first class and business class passengers await you at the sidewalk and ready to serve you. The porter will open your car door and take care of your suitcases.  You really don’t need to lift any fingers. There is a special check in gate for business class passenger. Open space with lounge chairs and sofas where you can wait while being checked in.

Your pampering experience doesn’t stop here. If you have time to kill, want to quench your thirst, fill up your tummy with some scrumptious hot meal or simply want to relax before your flight, then you can head to Al Mourjan business class lounge. You need to present your boarding pass to the security before you are allowed to hop on escalator that take you to the front door of the lounge on the upper floor.  The escalator is located behind a giant teddy bear.

Al Mourjan business class lounge is a state of art lounge. The interior design  evokes serene and relaxing atmosphere. The design of this massive 10,000 square meters lounge mirrors a resort experience. This world class facility provides variety of spaces to meet your needs. From a quiet nap room, private work stations to a games featuring a Formula 1 simulator. Multiple dining options offers different flavors from continental, oriental brasserie, deli to patisserie. It will certainly entertains your taste buds.  You can have a real meal here not only snacks.

Boeing Dreamliner 787

Boeing Dreamliner 787

While Qatar airways employs different aircraft for different route, one of its best aircraft is Boeing Dreamliner 787. I’m glad that their chosen aircraft for this route is Boeing Dreamliner 787. While I was a fan of Airbus 380, after trying Dreamliner 787, I can safely say that I adore Dreamliner more than Airbus 380. Dreamliner 787 is the only commercial airlines with the biggest window. Its large, electronically dimmable window offer dramatic view and adjustable natural light.  Not to mention its LED light and flat seat to help you feeling rested. And if you rather work while being entertained with its 17 inches screen, the dual screens option certainly will help you do the job.

As for the food, you can order it from the menu  whenever you want. My favorite drinks are orangeade and mint tea.  Orangeade drink contains orange juice, lime juice, soda water, sugar  and a slice of lime. The drink is very refreshing.  The food is  served on white porcelain plates and white linen. It makes you completely forget than you are in the sky. Extensive wine list, exotic non- alcoholic drinks and menu curated with a perfection surely will pamper your palate.

For a chill type like me, you can enjoy their on demand entertainment without any background noise. A noise cancelling headphone really enhance your movie watching experience. Nothing like watching movie on the big screen with noise cancelling headphone while laying down on a flat seat that turn into a bed improve your travel experience significantly.

If that is not enough for you, how about the finest designer keepsake amenity kits? Qatar Airways has collaborated with  luggage designer BRICS and Italian skin care brand Castello Monte Vibiano Vecchio to create a luxury amenity kits for Qatar airways business class and first class passengers. Inside a pouch you can find anti aging moisturizer, lips balm, hydrating facial mist, eye masks, ear plugs and socks.

As expected, the flight attendants are very helpful and courteous. She even took my picture for a souvenir.  What can I say, It is a ride to remember. Just like the saying goes,” It is not always about the destination but it is also about the journey along the way.” All I can say is, this saying completely true when it comes to flying with Qatar airways business class. It is a kind of journey that you enjoy every minute of it. A journey that get even sweeter when the flight attendants wave you goodbye while handing you Godiva chocolate when you disembark the aircraft.
